There is no doubt that small things done with great love can change the world. A random act of kindness with no strings attached is a great way to show the love of Jesus to those around us.
Who doesn’t like to be given a free cup of coffee on a cold day? Especially by someone who is smiling, happy and having fun. This type of evangelism wins the heart before it confronts the mind. A small act of kindness nudges a person close to God, often in a profound way.
During the month of March we are challenging everyone at Emmanuel to take part in our Act of Kindness Challenge - to show the people in and around our community the love of Jesus Christ. This challenge comes in perfect timing as we will prepare for our County Easter event in mid April and beginning our church plant; Emmanuel Picton.
For this challenge we have a selection of different Acts of Kindness deeds that you can choose from. With each act, we encourage you to leave a card (which is provided) to allow the recipient to know that this act of Kind- ness was provided by you; a member of Emmanuel. Kindness builds the bridge for the person to receive a touch of love from God. This special outreach is simple, practical, effective, inexpensive and fun!
Want to step up the challenge!!! We encourage you to take photo of your Act of Kindness and post to our Facebook or Instagram page with the #ebckindness. However, there is one RULE! The photo must be taken of the kindness deed and not of yourself. For example, if you bake cookies to give to a neighbour, then package the cookies up, place the Act of Kindness Card on the package and then take a photo of the package at the door of your neighbour - be creative!!! Also, be anonymous - you don’t need to show the recipient who the deed is from - just place the card with the kindness act.
