How to Know God

Life begins and finds its purpose in knowing God! You were created to have an eternal, personal relationship with God through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. "And this is the way to have eternal life—to know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, the one you sent to earth." (John 17:3)

That relationship can start today with a simple, sincere prayer. Check out the explanation below and one of the videos. If you prayed today, have questions, or would like to talk or pray with us, please contact us!

So, How Do I Become a Christian?

God loves you and wants you to live at peace with God. You can know that you have eternal life, and you can experience the abundant life that God gives us through Jesus Christ.

Eternal Life: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life." (John 3:16)

Abundant Life: "I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full." (John 10:10) | "We have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 5:11)

Our Problem is That We Have Been Separated From God by Sin

"For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." (Romans 3:23) You may have heard someone say, "I'm only human – nobody's perfect." This Bible verse says the same thing: We are all sinners. We all do things that we know are wrong. That’s why we feel separated from God, because God is holy and good, and we are not.

Sin has a penalty. "For the wages of sin is death." (Romans 6:23) Just as criminals must pay the penalty for their crimes, sinners must pay the penalty for their sins. The penalty is spiritual death, which means that you will not only die physically, you will also be separated from God for all eternity in a place called Hell.

Our Attempts to Reach God Fall Short

Our attempts: Through the ages, people have tried to bridge the gap between themselves and God… without success. "There is a way that seems right to a man but in the end it leads to death." (Proverbs 14:12)

Jesus is the Bridge to God

Christ has paid our penalty: Jesus has paid the penalty for all your sins. The Bible says: "But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." (Romans 5:8)

You must receive Him: "Yet to all who received Him, to those who believed in His Name, He gave the right to become children of God." (John 1:12)

What to Pray

Dear Lord Jesus, I know that I am a sinner and I need Your forgiveness. I believe that You died for my sins. I ask You to come into my heart and life. I want to trust You as Saviour and to follow You as Lord. Amen.
